Private alpha terms
A careful test of a tool still in progress.
Last updated August 30, 2026
By using the Penombra private alpha, you agree to use it responsibly and understand that features may change while the product is tested.
Alpha availability
Access is invitation-only and may be limited, changed, suspended, or ended while Penombra is developed. Keep an independent copy of anything important. The alpha is provided as available and may contain errors, interruptions, or incomplete features.
Your content
You retain ownership of the notes and documents you submit. You give Penombra permission to store, process, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, maintain, and secure the service you request. You are responsible for having the right to upload and share the content you provide.
AI output
AI explanations, cleanups, diagrams, and images may be incomplete or wrong. Verify important information against reliable sources. Penombra is a learning and note-taking tool, not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
Acceptable use
You may not use Penombra to:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- upload malware or attempt to bypass access, usage, or security controls;
- probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service except where law expressly permits it; or
- use another person's account or invite without permission.
Free and Pro access
Free use does not require an account and includes a daily AI allowance. Pro is a recurring subscription at the price shown at checkout and adds the benefits shown on the plans page. You can cancel through the billing portal; access continues according to the subscription status reported by Stripe.
Responsibility and limits
To the extent allowed by law, Penombra and the Lens organization are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages arising from alpha use. Nothing here limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.
Questions or account requests
During the private alpha, contact the Lens organization person who invited you for support, legal questions, or account-deletion requests. Review the privacy notice for details about data handling.
